Maid Wars - Celestine's Black Market Mayhem part 4“So where are we heading?” asked Tia as they settled in for the journey.Maid Wars - Celestine's Black Market Mayhem part 4 by Yggi11
“Ruminax III,” Celestine replied. “It seems those black market items have been coming from SpencerCorp.”
“SpencerCorp?” Tia said with some surprise. “But they're huge. Why are thugs doing under the table shopping with them.”
“Well, any pirate who lasts more than a few months does so by having an edge of some sort, be it cybernetic enhancements, an extremely fast ship, military-grade weaponry, an extensive list of contacts, the right kind of bribery...”
“... consistently playing a fool in order to be underestimated?” Tia interjected pointedly.
“Well, sure, I guess a clever person could make that work,” Celestine said innocently.
“But I meant, why would a major corp be selling survival gear to petty pirate gangs?”
“Testing the waters, perhaps?” Cel theorized. “Seeing how it goes before invest
Maid Wars - Celestine's Black Market Mayhem Part 3„Well, THAT was an easy payday!“ Robert Chang announced smugly from behind his pistol. Him and his three brothers formed a rough semicircle, as much as the available cover had allowed. They all smiled cockily, all thuggish attitude, fake brand suits and cheap guns.Maid Wars - Celestine's Black Market Mayhem Part 3 by Yggi11
„What do you say to that, miss smartypants?“ another Chang added.
„I say 'Blatherskite',“ Celestine replied
The receiver built into Cel's suit picked up the password and relayed it to the little surprise she'd dumped in the garbage bin earlier.
The firecrackers went off in the tight space, startling the Chang brothers and drawing their attention for a moment.
Cel dove sideways as she pulled the blop-gun from its holster and fired off two quick shots.
Two balls of glistening, rubbery substance exited the barrel at subsonic speeds. Free from confinement they expanded rapidly and the little gravity trick that went into making blop guns sent the balls smashing into two faces with dis

Celestine decided to try the obvious solutions first and called up some entrepreneurial acquaintances spread around the sector's less reputable areas. None of them had anything to say about mysterious, robot-manufactures exclusive to the black market, so she set course for the best place in known space for piracy-related shopping.
Tia had been aboard The Ocelot before, but any exploration of the ship had been limited to Cel carrying her between the bunk, cockpit and lounge, so with time to kill she started by poking around a bit. She kind of lost interest after Celestine told her how to bypass the booby traps a casual inspection was likely to lead her to. She settled for joining Cel in the cockpit and noticed a bunch of photos set up on the inside of a locker door. It had been closed during her earlier stay.
She recognised several of her sisters in AMAZON in them.

Celestine, space rogue extraordinaire, leaned back in her booth and stared into mismatched eyes, one green and one grey. Her own. The metal glass in her hand was reflective enough to give a pretty good view of the area without her looking obvious about it.
Not that she expected trouble. The Clover Club was a pretty decent nightclub on a prosperous planet and Celestine wasn't worried about her contact.
True, she'd walked around the building first to scout out escape routes, hidden a remote-detonated firework in a bush outside in case she needed a sudden distraction and noted the layout of the interior and potential cover for a firefight upon entering. But that was just standard procedure. Rules were rules, even the ones you only made for yourself.
Her eyes darted to the door as a chime announced a new patron. Lieutenant Tia Wallace
